We provide Vancouver Seniors with home support, and we preserve their life story
Seniors often express their frustration at feeling “invisible” in our fast paced world. We understand Seniors’ need to feel seen and heard, even while accepting our support. We listen to Seniors and document their life story so families can connect across generations.
We know you’re concerned about your parents’ safety and quality of life
We work with you and your parent to put together a support plan that’s tailored to his/her needs. We want to include your loved one in the decision making, whenever possible, and we always keep you informed.
Everyone has a Life Story
We interview your loved one regarding their life themes, circumstances and milestones. Then we create a loving document or video that informs and connects future generations.

About us
With Compassion began with two friends discussing mutual concerns about their senior family members living alone.
We researched; looking for any locally owned and operated Vancouver companies. We wanted a small company that could quickly respond to any future changes in care our relative might need. We also hoped for a company with support workers who understood and valued the emotional and lifestyle needs of Seniors.
Feeling discouraged with our search results, we decided to leave “corporate” and created the company we were searching for.
So began “With Compassion” - a Company we would entrust with the care and support of our own family members!
Our Company consists of:
Barbara (Owner/Manager)
Joey (Admin and Operations Manager) and
CJ (Creative writer) who weaves together our clients’ life story for each Life Legacy project
Meet Barbara
I began my career with an Associate Degree in Nutriton and Food Services. I managed Food Service Departments in Long Term/Complex Care facilities and worked in Acute Care. I then pivoted my career to Sales and Marketing.
Recently I obtained the CPCA Designation: Certified Professional Consultant on Aging. The course consisted of 24 modules related to the most relevant health, social, legal and financial issues facing today’s Seniors and their families.
I consult with Vancouver Seniors and their families on current trends in aging, caregiving, housing and retirement.
I am a Mom, Friend, nature lover, gardener, book lover and sometimes artist.
My goal is to banish Seniors’ perception of being “invisible” in our fast-paced, info driven world. I like to help Seniors and families plan for care and housing, and I love to be part of ensuring that Seniors’ life stories are not lost to their families.

Consultation
We provide you with weekly reports, texts or calls so you’re always aware of your parent’s activities and progress.
We are trained professionals but we become a friend!
Guidance
We notice changes in our senior clients’ general health, mobility and emotional/mental wellness. If it becomes apparent that your parent requires advanced care, we can guide you through that process.
We will suggest options in housing and care and will work to ensure your parent is comfortable and involved whenever is appropriate.
Life Legacy Project
A life that is not documented is a life that, within a generation or two, will largely be lost to memory. What a tragedy this can be in the history of a family!
Knowledge of our previous generations shapes us and can instill in us, values, direction and meaning into our lives. We can preserve your family narrative with our Life Legacy Project.
We interview your loved one regarding their life themes, circumstances and milestones, then create a loving document or video that informs and transforms future generations.
